I'm learning yoga!
I've got a few basic poses down, and with practice maybe I can become a Yogini.
Downward facing dog - I'm a natural at this pose:
Wide legged forward bend:
Extended puppy pose:
Calm heart meditation (a cookie incentive clearly helps me focus):
I'm going to keep practicing - yoga makes me feel so good!

My First Show - Santa Clara Valley KC
This past weekend, I went to my 1st show - the Santa Clara Kennel Club show in San Jose.
Michael McGuire is my handler. He's tall like me and very patient which is really important because I'm just a puppy and I'm trying to learn the ropes. We became fast friends:
I was so excited by all the new sites, sounds, and faces (furry and human) at the show. The humans love to watch the puppy classes because we're all over the place and we don't really know what to do!
After the second session on Sunday, I got home around 10am and passed out cold. I was so tired I didn't get up until after 6pm!

Triage
Tonight I found out that we have a triage center in the house! It's where all my toys go once I "cross the line" and the stuffing starts flying. Tonight was surgery night:
Victim #1 = Hedgehog
Injury = Jugular exposed and broken nose
Victim #2 = Reindeer
Injury = Jugular exposed
Victim #3 = Alien
Injury = Tongue and jaw removed
Victim #4 = Lion
Injury = Appendix removed

I got to talk to Hedgehog before surgery - I told him that it would be "game on" when he comes out!
Alien looks like the worst of the lot - I'm not sure he's going to make it:
So now I wait for the surgeries to be completed:
Whew! Hedgehog, Lion, and Reindeer made it through:
Poor Alien -
his surgery has been postponed for now. He needs some pretty intricate mending:
My friend Robert gave me Hedgehog, so I'm glad he made it - Hedgehog is my favorite toy:
I can sleep well tonight.Wednesday, February 6, 2013
My Sis Nika
I have the best siblings...in fact, I have 9 of them. I'm very fortunate to live near one of my sisters, Nika (left):
The humans say Nika's a real beauty in every light:
I like to think of Nika as my partner-in-crime. We practice paw-to-paw combat when we get together, but we also look out for each other at the dog park:
I have the best time hanging out at Robert's place - always a roaring fire, lots of room to play, tech gadgets galore, and Guitar Hero - what else could I ask for?! Nika and Robert are really great friends, and I feel fortunate they live close by so we can play often!

Nika's dad, Robert, is a cool guy. He can always be found doing something fun like rock climbing, hang gliding, or hiking.

A Bad Idea
It was so nice outside today. Mom let me hang out in the yard to catch some rays. After she went back into the house, I decided it was immediately necessary to dig a giant hole in the backyard. I mean, why not? I think holes make the backyard look great. Doesn't everyone?
So my idea lead to this:
But that idea lead to this:
I'm a RR, so I hate water and I hate baths. Mom thought this was really funny, but I wasn't laughing. Mom tries to make everything in the bath a "spa experience." But I know that's all hype. She's not fooling me. Baths are no fun (but I have to admit the warm towels are kinda cool):
Apparently I'm all clean now and smell like a mango:
But the yard must have more holes. I will find a way....

Graduation from Siruis Training Puppy 2
I did it! I graduated from puppy training level 2!! Boy, this series of classes at Sirius Training took a lot of work and focus, but I did it! I learned so much, and my instructor, Eleanor Stewart, was totally awesome. She's patient, funny, and she always had the best treats for a job well done. Highly recommend Sirius Training Puppy Levels 1 and 2.
